🦉Too many RPGs

Welcome back, adventurer!

We’ve risen from the ashes like a phoenix, though you might not have noticed.

There was no newsletter last week.

The truth is, I scored a natural one in... perception? (I’m open to debate on whether memory is a wisdom or intelligence skill check.)

This past week, Saúl and I have been swamped in our little home, and sometimes a freelancer just can’t handle any more.

But this week we’re back with two topics of utmost importance.

Tomorrow and the day after, we’ll be at Ficzone in Granada at the Meeple Factory with our little booth and our usual screens and dice, so if you’re in the area, we hope to see you there.

The other thing is that I’m here to share some of the responses other fellow adventurers sent us about their favorite role-playing games.

(Saúl has hidden my wallet so I don’t go on a compulsive buying spree for rulebooks.)

The good old classics

Many adventurers have written to me telling me that their favorite game is still D&D or Pathfinder.

Our loyal reader Celia has recommended that we check out The Crooked Moon, a folklore-inspired horror module packed with new content for D&D 2024.

It adds lineages, classes, familiars… basically everything you need to create a world that will unleash your players’ worst nightmares.

The truth is, I've skimmed through it and I'm thinking about incorporating some elements into my game of Curse of Strahd.

Anything that makes my players suffer is music to my ears.

Drama is in the air…

Albert also told us that he’s really looking forward to playing Vileborn by The Horrible Guild.

In this game, your character has been touched by darkness, and despite their evil heritage (vampires, werewolves, witches, etc.), they’ll try to do good and save the world.

We haven't tried it yet, but we can't recommend Wilderfeast from the same publisher highly enough. If you enjoyed Dungeon Meshi and Avatar: The Last Airbender, this is the game for you.

You'll be able to restore balance to nature while hunting all kinds of creatures corrupted by a mysterious disease…and eating them to become more powerful.

Magical kitties

The title says it all.

You're a cat.

You do magic.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't need anything else. Natalia really hit the nail on the head when she told me about this game—what a fantasy.

In case anyone had any doubts, I want to be the little fireball in the background.

I love it.

That's all for this week.

The Irene of the past decided she was an elf and that she only needed four hours to complete a long rest before catching the plane to Granada.

Next week, I’ll finish telling you about some other super cool games our fellow adventurers have told me about.

Successfull quests and better rolls.
