🦉Summer is almost here!

And with the arrival of nice weather, a whole world of possibilities opens up

Greetings, adventurer!

I don’t know if you feel the same way, but when the weather is this nice, I really don’t feel like staying home.

As much as I love role-playing, even Lord Strahd wants to get a little tan.

Of course, with SPF 500 sunscreen otherwise, you’ll end up with a nasty sunburn.

At least for the vampires and for Saul.

So today I want to suggest some summer role plans to get you out of the cave, so that DMs and players can get a little vitamin D.

But, before we dive in, I wanted to remind you that today is the last day to order your Mistborn screen with an allomantic die included.

Remember, when placing your order, you must enter the password: THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER SECRET

Without further ado… Let’s get started!

For the creative minds

You know I love making things for our games.

And I know that many readers of this newsletter share my passion.

Well, in the summer, a really fun plan is to get together at some tables in a park or in a friend’s backyard to make something cool together and enjoy a nice snack.

Personally, I want to make linocut stamps of our characters with my D&D group and stamp them on t-shirts.

It’s actually easier than it looks.

The fun part is that each stamp is totally chaotic and imperfect, and we all have a good laugh together.

And in the end, everyone goes home with their official D&D game T-shirt.

My Pinterest inspiration. Imagine four scared adventurers and Strahd. It would be perfect.

On the other hand, Saúl’s creative mind is thinking about using his electronics skills, that is, building gadgets that turn on lights and make noises,to create a bard’s instrument/synthesizer that he can use in our games when he casts spells.

I’m excited about it.

Especially the part where he has to test it thirty times to see if that high-pitched sound works.

This is how I imagine Saul’s bard future look

For those who want to go on an adventure

In Asturias, we’re incredibly lucky to have so many absolutely amazing hiking trails.

And if you’re the adventurous type, I think it’s a really cool idea to meet up with friends for a hike, like the Desfiladero de las Xanas, and while you’re walking, brainstorm a game setting in that area, even if it’s just for a one-shot.

But the inspiration from the details in the moment is sure to give you ideas that wouldn’t have occurred to you at home.

I can just picture the start of an adventure as I venture into these parts,I don't know about you

Plus, the hot chocolate or lemonade after the hike is well worth it.

For LARPers

Now is the perfect time of year for LARP.

But if you’re like me and don’t want to dive into an event full of strangers, you can try getting together with your friends and starting out in small groups.

Or, as one reader recommended to me, start with smaller local groups.

You don’t have to go to Drachenfest to get started.

We recommend starting with more narrative-driven LARP rather than combat-focused ones.

Or if you love the aesthetic but find it hard to get into the role of a 500 year old elf whose blood carries the energy of a water elemental… well, maybe you can get together to take some gorgeous photos of your characters to decorate your gaming room.

I’m lucky enough to have some really cool friends with whom we throw themed parties all the time, and at the last one we had an amazing Western-themed photo shoot that I still can’t believe happened.

No real guns were used here. The only shots fired here where shots of cider.

So I think this is a great summer plan, too one where you can have a good laugh and act a little silly.

And for now, these are some of the role-playing ideas that come to mind, but I'm sure you have a few more up your sleeve.

We’re signing off for today, brimming with inspiration and new ideas.

Successful quests and better rolls.
